Visakhapatnam: There is no shortcut to the success story of Dr SrinubabuGedela’s humble journey from a tiny village in Srikakulam district to Andhra University and later Stanford and finally carving a niche for himself as a prominent leader in scientific publishing.
His early life was marked by financial hardship. Despite walking 10 miles daily to attend school, he excelled in his studies.
Dr Srinubabu is a scientist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose contributions have transformed open-access publishing, digital employment creation, and healthcare accessibility. With an academic journey marked by excellence, he earned his BPharm, MTech, and PhD from Andhra University, completing his doctorate at the age of 25. He later pursued a post-doctoral fellowship at Stanford University, solidifying his reputation in academia with 50 peer-reviewed articles and a Google Scholar h-index of 14.
As CEO of Pulsus Group since 2008, Dr Srinubabu has spearheaded the management of 18 publishing brands, publishing 50,000 research articles annually and organizing over 3,000 global annual conferences. Under his leadership, Pulsus, which started in a modest way, now operates from six Special Economic Zones, employing over 5,000 individuals, 75 per cent of whom are women. His initiatives exemplify gender inclusivity and digital innovation.
As a global leader, Dr Srinubabu says he plays a pivotal role in fostering international collaboration. He serves as Co-Convenor of the G20 Health, Pharma, and Tech Summit Series, advocating for technology and healthcare advancements. His leadership was instrumental in organising G20 healthcare pre-meetings, bringing together over 200 global leaders to discuss health equity and innovative collaborations. In 2023, he established the Pulsus Vijaya Multi-Specialty Hospital and Research Centre in Srikakulam, a model embodying the G20 vision for affordable and accessible healthcare in rural areas.

The long walks to school were tough, but they fueled my determination to succeed,” he told Bizz Buzz, adding sky is the limit to scale the ladder of success as he wants further expand is firms from Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Chennai and Delhi to many other new locations so that he can provide employment opportunity to many rural youth and women both directly and indirectly.
